DukeEngage in Belfast 2010 presents a film screening of We Carried Your Secrets
Wednesday, October 27th at 8.00pm
Smith Warehouse, Bay 4 (the Garage)
Reception with refreshments will follow
“We Carried Your Secrets” features the true stories of people from all sides of the conflict in Northern Ireland, including both perpetrators and victims of abuse. Through the eyes of ex-prisoners, police officers, and family members, we see the complexity of the Troubles and, as actor Chris McAlinden explains, the “ripple effect” that transmits hatred and prejudice to the next generation. This documentary was directed by Declan Keeney, in association with the Theatre of Witness Program in Derry, Northern Ireland, UK.
This event is especially encouraged for students considering DukeEngage in Belfast, Northern Ireland 2011. Come meet last summer’s participants & learn more about the program!
