Climate Change, Environmental Justice & Human Rights

The DHRC at the Kenan Institute for Ethics will host a panel discussion entitled, “Climate Change, Human Rights and Environmental Justice: Which Ways Forward?”

Featured panelists include John Knox, the United Nations first Independent Expert on the the environment and human rights and professor at Wake Forest Law School and Niranjali Amerasinghe, the Director of the Climate & Energy Program at the Center for International Environmental Law. Professor Deborah Gallagher of the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke will moderate the discussion.

This discussion is part of an ongoing workshop series, Conversations in Human Rights, begun last year at the DHRC at the KIE. This series brings together panelists from other institutions and Duke faculty to engage with their research on hot-button international human rights issues. A reception will follow each workshop.
