We honor our history by remembering, we honor our history by listening to the experiences of others and sharing our own stories. On Sunday we will honor the first African American students to integrate several of Durham’s previously all white school. 50 years ago, the first of those students graduated from Durham High School. We invite you to bring your memories of Durham and of the places you grew up. We invite you to share your stories and learn from the stories of your neighbors.

This program is presented by the Pauli Murray Project and the North Carolina Collection and is supported by the Durham Library Foundation. It is the third of a three-event series that highlights individuals and groups who have challenged the status quo, worked against injustice, and have shown bravery in the face of adversity.
