Duke Commemorates Human Rights Day

Join Amnesty International in the sponsoring of Duke University’s commemoration of December 10th, the Anniversary of Human Rights Day in celebration of the adoption of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

On this day, we ask the Duke community to stand in solidarity for the protection of the rights of every human being, be they the rights of a refugee or migrant, a person with disabilities, an LGBT person, a woman, a child, indigenous peoples, a minority group, or anyone else at risk of discrimination or violence.

Please join us and the global community in lighting a candle at the Duke Chapel to show your recognition and commitment to guaranteeing the fundamental freedoms and of all.
