Join us on Saturday, April 1st for Homecoming at the Pauli Murray Family Home!
We’re celebrating the designation of the Pauli Murray Family home as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service. Join us for a NHL Plaque ceremony, community party, exhibits, arts activities, walking tours and lots of FUN. Throughout the day there will be FREE snacks and drinks. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Schedule for Homecoming:
- 1:00pm – Plaque Presentation at the Pauli Murray House
- 2:00-5:00 pm – Exhibits about Pauli Murray’s life and legacy including Arts Activities led by local artists Malcolm & Assata Goff and Bryant Holsenbeck, and Book Sales (author Patricia Bell-Scott will be on hand to sign copies of “The Firebrand and the First Lady, Portrait of a Friendship: Pauli Murray, Eleanor Roosevelt and the Struggle for Social Justice”)
Pauli Murray’s Place Walking Tour with Whistle-Stop Tours:
- 12:00pm – Neighborhood Walking Tour (starting at Durham Co-op Market)
- 3:00pm – Neighborhood Walking Tour starting at the Pauli Murray House
