A True Story: CIA Interrogation Program Exposed

Please join us for a free pre-screening of The Report, followed by a panel discussion with Robin Kirk, Faculty Co-Chair of the Duke Human Rights Center;
Tim Nichols, Former Marine Intelligence Officer & Duke Professor; and David Schanzer, Director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism & Homeland Security.

The Report is a riveting thriller based on actual events. Idealistic staffer Daniel J. Jones (Adam Driver) is tasked by his boss Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening) to lead an investigation of the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program, which was created in the aftermath of 9/11. Jones’ relentless pursuit of the truth leads to explosive findings that uncover the lengths to which the nation’s top intelligence agency went to destroy evidence, subvert the law, and hide a brutal secret from the American public.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion with Tim Nichols, David Schanzer and  Robin Kirk: Co-Director of the Duke Human Rights Center, Co-Chair of the NC Commission of Inquiry on Torture.

Pizza, popcorn and drinks will be served. The film screening begins at 6 PM.

Sponsored by Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security; and Duke Program in American Grand Strategy.
