Meet Valeria

As a Refugee Community organizer, Valeria works alongside immigrants and refugees to empower their leadership in our community. Her work mainly focuses on ensuring that immigrants and refugees are equipped to advocate around the issues that impact them. Through ongoing collaboration with local refugees & and immigrant leaders, her team holds trainings, and community meetings, and partake in different civic engagement activities. By centering impacted voices and their experiences, her team focuses on building collective power to change public narratives about refugees and immigrants. As a first-generation immigrant, she is deeply passionate about change that focuses on dismantling the harmful systems that prevent immigrants’ refugees, and other disenfranchised groups from thriving in our society.
